Water Awareness Foundation
Our Mission

About the Foundation

We exist for one reason: to help Colorado families understand their water. No products, no pressure -- just facts.

Our Mission

The Water Awareness Foundation is an independent educational resource dedicated to providing clear, research-based information about municipal water systems, household plumbing, and long-term exposure considerations. We serve Colorado families who want to understand what is in their water, how it gets to their tap, and what it means for their household.

We were founded on a simple principle: every family deserves access to straightforward, unbiased information about their water. Not marketing. Not fear. Just clarity.

What We Believe

Independence

We are not affiliated with any government agency, water utility, or product manufacturer. Our information is free from commercial bias.

Education

We believe informed families make better decisions. Every piece of content we produce is designed to explain, not to persuade.

Transparency

We cite our sources, explain our methods, and are upfront about what we know and what we don't. No hidden agendas.

Clarity

Water quality information can be confusing. We translate complex science into language anyone can understand and act on.

Our Approach

We don't use scare tactics. We don't make medical claims. We don't sell products.

We provide facts, context, and clarity so families can make informed decisions about their household water. Our content is grounded in publicly available research, EPA guidelines, and Colorado-specific water data. We present information in plain language and let you draw your own conclusions.

When we offer a free water analysis, it is exactly that -- free, and with no obligation. We believe that understanding your water is a right, not a sales funnel. If an analysis reveals that your water is in great shape, we will tell you that directly. Our job is to give you facts, not to create anxiety.

Serving Colorado

Colorado has a unique water landscape. Our water originates as mountain snowmelt, travels through complex collection and treatment systems, and reaches homes through infrastructure that in many cases is decades old. Front Range communities from Fort Collins to Colorado Springs each face their own water quality considerations shaped by geography, source water, and local infrastructure.

We focus specifically on Colorado because water quality is deeply local. National averages and generic advice often miss the details that matter most to a family in Aurora, Lakewood, or Thornton. By concentrating our research and resources on Colorado communities, we can provide information that is relevant, specific, and actionable.
